Recycled filters are as good as new ones. In fact, new filters begin life with less than 100% efficiency. Not until a porous cake of soot builds up on the filter media ("Precoat") does the filter reach it's maximum efficiency. After 15% of it's useful life, the filter becomes virtually 100% efficient. Recycled filters retain their "Precoat".
